Through research, art, events and workshops, we ask:

*What does it take to commission and support work that is responding to specific places, communities and contextual situations?

*What intelligences and efforts are needed?

*How important is this work to our cultural identity?

*How does it contribute to the cultural heritage of a place?

*What combinations of factors make this work possible; artistic practice, collaborators, participants, the existence and creation of useful support structures, institutional supports, Local Authority supports, access to the latent organisational powers held within communities, access to the contextual intelligence of a place....
